TREE PLANTATION

The vision and mission of the college is to develop & evoke the intermutually values, inculcates the roles and responsibilities of the good citizen so as to betroth the students in involving the welfare activities around the neighbouring communities to face & overcome social issues like global warming, increasing tree plantation and rain water harvesting.
Implanting the values of Thirualluvar among the school children, the college initiated the step to open bank account and planting the tree saplings under the project of “A Tree to A Student”. United with Department of School Education, Karur and Environmental club, Karur, the college brought into existence of project “A Tree to A Student”among the school students of Manmangalam Government Higher Secondary School on 22.12.2020. Inculcating the saving habit, the college opened Savings Account on the hundred volunteers of the scheme of “A Tree to a Student” and provided 100 saplings of bamboo and neem to the school students.
Once in three months, a team from the college regularly monitored the growth of the saplings. In order to motivate watering the saplings regularly, the team pasted aim of the students on the cage that makes the students to adhere their aim. The students rewarded cash prizes on the basis of the growth of a tree as above 5 feet- Rs 200, above 3 feet – Rs 150 and above the cage’s height – 100.
Finally, the project succeeded to harvest more oxygen from the neem trees which helps to balance the eco – system; the school students learned to save the nature and deposit the pocket money in their savings account.
